How do you find the Best Anti-Virus program?

I checked CNET, one of the most popular technology sites on the internet, and read their recommendations. CNET gave their Editor's Choice award to Kaspersky Antivirus.  Then I checked at PC World. Kaspersky Antivirus also won the Editor's Choice award at PC World.  The experts seem to agree now that Kaspersky Antivirus is a very good antivirus software program.  However it has a list price of $59.95.  After surfing a bit further I found a company called PC Security Shield that has an agreement with Kaspersky Labs to use the Kaspersky Antivirus Program and re-package it under their own brand.  They call the program Shield Deluxe and include free telephone support.  Very few software companies offer free telephone support anymore.  Also they have a list price of $49.99 for Shield Deluxe.  The 2008 version is now available, and it can be purchased from the following discount link for $39.99.

This software found about a dozen infected files on my computer that antivirus software from Computer Associates was not able to uncover.
